Lidia Tivichi
I opened Maris Dusan in the Spring of 2010 with one goal in mind: To treat every client as if they’re a glamorous Hollywood star. Everybody deserves to feel special and have the finest in skin care. I don’t believe in any gimmicks or short cuts. There’s no magic potion in a jar. Glowing, healthy skin comes from working with an aesthetician that knows how to properly clean and massage the skin. Without that foundation, it doesn’t matter how many $300 moisturizers you have in your medicine cabinet. They won’t work.

I started in the beauty business 30 years ago. Ask anybody, and they’ll tell you I was always a bit of a rebel. I did things my way. I never believed in a one-size-fits-all, cookie-cutter mentality to skin care, even when I was pressured to do so at other New York City salons. This has given me the opportunity to get to know my clients and understand their lifestyles. Every facial and beauty regimen begins with a thorough assessment and each treatment is customized to meet his/her needs. I’ve had the good fortune of working with people from all over the world and appreciate no two are the same.

My own story is I came to the United States from Romania where I first learned about the healing properties of botanicals and herbs. I still rely on these recipes when preparing and mixing masks for my clients. Every aesthetician at Maris Dusan has been personally trained by me and is up-to-date with the latest techniques.

My work has been featured on the pages of Allure, Vogue, Marie Claire and other high-end fashion magazines.

I chose to call my salon after my maiden name, Maris Dusan. It was my dream to own my own business, and I wanted to honor my family who taught me the value of hard work and honesty. They instilled in me a strength and belief anything’s possible. My clients tease me that I’m a tough cookie, but I always tell it like it is, and I promise no one will make you look and feel more radiant and beautiful.

Maris Dusan is a full service salon specializing in customized facials, waxing and other treatments located on Park Avenue.

Dorina Ionescu
I was born in Romania and emigrated to the United States in 1991. I have always been fascinated with skincare and the relationship that it can have to help people to feel good about themselves. I completed 1000 hours of study at LIBS New York and earned a New York state cosmetology license in 1992. My goal is to educate my clients about the latest in skincare so together we can choose the right treatments for their skin. There is no such thing as one treatment for everyone so I take the time to carefully analyze my clients skin and recommend the right solution. I was trained by Lidi and learned the latest techniques.
